Two things, an 'e', and vocals

:O
Either way I enjoyed it, but it could use some vocals to make it into a 'real' song. For now, it's a good bit of ambient/background music.
A little too repetitive for me, though.

wow, quite amazing.

for a song to have been submitted on newgrounds, this has some pretty amazing lyrical music.
it has been added to my ever-growing list of songs to eventually animate something to... I just have to get around to getting home to my tablet.
My precious tablet...

Problem with this song is I think it'd be hard to animate to, and would require some real work and extra effort to make something of it... we'll see in the future.

But I think it's a great song with some angsty emotion in there, with well done lyrics and, though simple, great guitar.

it has a good feel to it.

I enjoyed listening to it for the 2:40.

I like making flashes that respond to the music (although I've only submitted one so far...) - this one has just been added to my ever-growing list of "songs that I should make a flash to"

Although it's a little sporadic in its instrument use at times.

dicennian responds:

Thanks for reviewing! Sure you can use my song on your flash videos. I would love that!

I think I will take your advice.

This does have a lot higher quality in general sound recording, and your guitar has improved since the other one.

Not only that, but it's a good two minutes shorter (which means I would have to animate a LOT less frames)

Now I just have to come up with an idea for what to animate, although I suppose it will just end up being some huge fight involving Pico somehow.

You'll likely see the submission get, well, submitted, on Pico Day.

SlaveLabor responds:

Awesome, I seriously can't wait. Yea, this one of my better works...of... doing a cover, my original work is much better than the other crap I uploaded. I just need to get a new guitar for the time being, my one died (the neck broke off D:) As soon as I do more will come.

Thanks for the review

My god.

I think I pooped a little.

All rediculousness aside, you've done a great job combining the two, you didn't rely on the tunes of the originals, you've made some great electro-ambience in the background, and have put the melody in there converting it to the techno track that it is. It almost inspires me to make some sort of zelda tribute.

Almost...

I like it pretty much all after 1:20ish

Although I suppose, the buildup is necessary.

I would suggest, somewhere, putting in "it's the final countdown" somewhere, even if it's just instrumental.

I'm thinking somewhere about 2:45 slowing it down, pulling out the instruments until it's just the main melody going, having "it's the final countdown" tune play, at which point the whole song should push back into full gear.

Also, please get rid of those fades used at, I believe, exactly 3:00, and 4:30... maybe more of them... but they are a little disorienting.

As for the ending, it was good, I suppose... but I think there is a reason that they had the singer call out "it's the final countdown".
The music by itself gets quite repetitive.

Either way, pretty great as it is right now, but I would prefer it, well, with those things that I've mentioned.

all I'm getting

is some really bad static for four seconds.
I think something is wrong with my internets, perhaps...
I'll give you the averagest review I can.

I was a little disappointed, but

I did like what you did with it.

I was sorta hoping for the whole melody from the 8 soundstones, but I guess you went with the melody from the Super Smash Brothers Melee game, rather than the one from Earthbound itself...

I played that game all the way through to Gargaj, that tricky bastard... finally figured out how to damage him heavily, but even after I'd hit him for far, FAR over 9000, with the prayers from Onett, he still wouldn't go down.

Man that brings me back... I may just make a flash of the whole game story using this music, though. Would be fun reliving that game.

ZOMGBIE responds:

Thanks for the review. Sorry to disappoint, but this was the Eight Melodies from the very first Mother on the NES. The game we know as Earthbound is Mother 2. But the first was brought to the US on the GBA and called Earthbound 0. I'm not sure if you knew that or not, but I apologize for the confusion.

I quite like it.

Respect to your ambient Drum and Bass song.

Although - is almost painfully repetative

Fairly epic music...

And I love the little part with the... I'm not sure what the instrumental term is...
I'ma just go with "80's guitar" at 0:50.

Is all pretty great, and I may use it in my halloween submission's main battle/action scene.
