Haha, THERE's the moral ending

I enjoyed the positive ending for a change - the whole 'making up for all the crap he goes through' thing.

I will also tell my dad you said hi.

Great animation, voice, good story (even if it is basically "bad stuff happens to this guy") nice way to end your series here.

Ahhh, yes

I do remember watching this one a while back... possibly on the day you uploaded it?
Yes, you can do good story work away from violence, so I'll accept that Captain Violence is just a parody of ridiculous superhero and move on from critiquing your story-writing abilities, haha.

Pretty well done, but it's clear your animation has come a long way from back here.

sorbitol responds:

HAHA! Thanks Deaththe14th!
I'm flattered you took the time to check my other work :)

The challenge was to try an make a decent series of cartoons without taking the easy way out (video-game references, swearing...etc...) and to try and practice writing stories and see what I could do in Flash. This must be about 2 years old now... doesn't time fly?

Thankfully, I have improved a little since then.

Thanks for another cool review, Deaththe14th! I really do appreciate them!

:D

Pretty great

I enjoyed the story you had there, simple zombie story, new breeds, getting sleep... and the animation quality itself was at *least* above par to the Newgrounds average.

Good work on the animation and holding off until Halloween.

Totally should have adjusted the voice to be a little louder, though... my bad.

joshuaskillsrobles responds:

lol dont worry about it, you can still hear everything.

Great production quality, silly idea

But hey, here on Newgrounds, it's everything by everyone.

But I recommend doing what our TAFE Animation teachers told us to do - a simple, original story that isn't about violence or swearing.

Sounds simple enough, no?

Anyway, this whole stupid hero concept has been done before (off the top of my head "Burnt Face Man" comes to mind), but the social commentary of heroes using violence isn't lost on me.

tl;dr, good animation, music, voices, and even some good parody-style humour (The Follicator placing himself onto the ground, but still creating a shockwave) - just a silly and overused idea that violence = funny, or something, in cartoons.

sorbitol responds:

Thanks for the review!

I understand that you are going to judge me based on what you've seen here, but before this I had made 3 episodes of "Subordinate Droids" which didn't feature any swearing or OTT violence - just "suitable for all" cartoon shenanigans. Maybe you'd prefer them to this?

But I'm glad you liked this for the most part!

Thanks for the cool review!

:)

oo, using dubmood's chiptunes.

nice.
I really enjoy them... isn't he with Razor1911 or something?

Anyway, good song, reasonably terrible animation.

elmusho responds:

Yep he is.

And i know the anim is terrible, what do you think when its ME? i cant even fukken draw a square

Ridiculously well done piece of animation.

The flow reminded me a little of Wierd Al's "Albuquerque" - what with the fast talking and well synchronised animation/music there.

All round I can see why this is rated as one of the best movies on this site - because it is fantastic.

bahaha

coding something can get pretty tedious, especially if it's big and awesome like Mastermind.

I enjoyed your sleep-deprivation-induced animation - the quality was definitely all there.

if mrosterlength = this_mc gotoAndPlay(_root.playerweapon... ;
I am confused =/

You should totally finish it.

and get some voice actors to do the singing for you, I suppose, if that's your best effort (no real offence meant - but some people specialise in this work, and could really make your humour shine here)

Decent parody of the song, though - if badly recorded (and sung?)

Trixen responds:

Hey there, thank you for taking the time to review. I am actualy a voice actor, and I do sing, but I dont consider any of vegeta's lines "singing" its rap, which basicaly means talking to a beat. The Only real singing would be Nappa, but, Listening to his voice, he isnt ment to sound like he has a professional singing career XD . Its gruff, harsh and funny sounding! This is all deliberate... The quality on the other hand, as in mixing and stuff, I did my best but I dont do mixing for a living XD

Heh, good parody

I'm not sure if I like this, or just like laughing about how accurately terrible it is.
Like, you could sell that as a proper anime, almost.
Just gotta treat it real, and use slightly less crazy voices.

Although I'll agree that most English-American voice actors for anime seem to be really terrible.

Anyway, good work, keep those animation/voice acting skills rising.

Pretty fantastic, and long.

I enjoyed it, although the whole thing didn't flow very well - or rather, transitions felt a little rigid.

Drawing was fantastic, and animation worked well enough. Music was great, and voice overs were pretty good too.

I think it deserves this score.
